DAPAALFA 5mg Tablet is used alone or in combination with other medicines to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps control the high blood sugar levels seen in diabetes. This reduces the chances of serious complications of diabetes and also helps prevent heart disease. DAPAALFA 5 mg Tablet contains ‘Dapagliflozin’ a protein found in kidney known as sodium-glucose cotransporters-2 (SGLT-2 inhibitor) that works by inhibiting the reabsorption of glucose in the body, resulting in an increase in glucose excretion through urine. The removal of excessive glucose helps to lower down the blood sugar level.
DAPAALFA 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor for advice. The most common side effects of taking DAPAALFA 5MG TABLET are genital infections, back pain, passing more urine, constipation, dizziness and rash. Contact your physician if any of these side effect worsens.

DAPAALFA 10mg tablet contains dapagliflozin and is used in type 2 diabetes along with diet and exercise. It is to be taken orally with a glass of water daily and at a fixed time. It lowers high blood
sugar levels by excreting excess blood sugar through urine. You should inform your doctor about all the other medicines you are consuming before starting with this medicine. Do not use DAPAALFA 10mg tablet if you are allergic to dapagliflozin or you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not skip the meal, take small but frequent meals. Before starting treatment with this medicine you should inform your doctor about your previous health, medical history, pregnancy, breastfeeding and also if you are on any medication.
